I don't have an italian salad dressing recipe for you but for dinner tonight I had a salad of baby greens dressed with Spengers Blackberry Basalmic Vinegar. I tossed in about a tablespoon of crumbled blue cheese and a few lightly candied pecans, it was awsome.

Spengers vinegars are only available through mail order, and worth every penny. They are heavier and fruityer than most fruit vinegars and are a staple in my kitchen.
rice vinegar is great solo. but you can always add olive oil, fresh garlic and the herbs of your choice. salt and pepper to taste. if you want heat add red pepper flakes.
Eighth Day Salad Dressing

Ingredients - Serves 4

17 fl oz (500ml) olive Oil

5 fl oz (150ml) Cider Vinegar

1 Medium Onion

1 Tablespoon Tomato Pure茅

1 Tablespoon Eighth Day Salad Dressing (mix which you can buy from our shop, or alternatively, make up your own by mixing by weight, 2 parts yellow mustard powder, 2 parts Spanish paprika, 2 parts dried basil and 1 part ground black pepper)

3陆 fl oz (100ml) Soya Milk

Method

Peel and chop the onion and mix with all the ingredients except the soya milk.

Blend into a smooth liquid and with the blender running, add the soya milk slowly until the mixture thickens.

The dressing will keep for three days in the refrigerator.
The best salad dressing is simply lemon juice...

Add Olive oil and any fresh herbs and you have a salad dressing to kill for..

More is not better...be selective with your herbs...I usually use what is in season at the time as that is always the best...and add salt and pepper to taste

鈥?1/4 teaspoon salt

鈥?1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

Whisk first 7 ingredients in small bowl. Add basil and place in covered salad cruet. Shake before serving. Best at room temperature. Do not store for long in refrigerator. Fresh herbs become pungent!
