I'm a very picky eater. I don't like vinegar or oils. I don't like things like squash, beans, peppers, or aparagus. I need some healthy recipes with normal foods. If you have any please share them.Healthy recipes?
Ok your like me, i HATE healthy foods haha but i really needed to start eating healthy foods to lose some weight so these are my favorites that are really satisfying yet super healthy and filling at the same time.
Breakfast:
1 banana
1/4 cup vanilla yogurt (low in sugar)
1/4 cup peanut butter (the organic creamy kind)
2 cups of 1% low-fat milk
*You dont really have to measure all these exactly just eyeball it and throw it in a blender and thats it! Its so yummy and so healthy for you and easy to make. The best part about this shake is that its SUPER filling so you wont be hungry for awhile and you can add some protein powder to it (vanilla kind) and you wont even taste it!
Lunch/ Dinner:
-Whole wheat pasta (any shape you like)
- Organic tomato sauce ( Make sure it only has less than 10 ingrediants in the sauce and its all natural and check to make sure the calories are really low, about 50 caliories per 1/2 cup of sauce)
- 1/2 eggplant (i know you dont like squash but i dont either and i love eggplant especially in tomato sauce and its a great way to get extra vegtables in there)
* Start with cooking the pasta, put some water in a pot and turn on high heat....while thats boiling cut up the eggplant in small chunks and throw it in a pan with a little olive oil just to cook it.....Then add the pasta to the water, Then put the tomato sauce in the pan with the eggplant and bring it to a simmer. THATS IT! After the pasta is done cooking just take some tongs and transfer it to the pasta eggplant sauce. SO EASY and so delicious.
Dessert:
-Fancy dark chocolate bar
- 1/2 cup 1% low-fat milk
- 1/4 cup brewed coffee (actually helps with celulite!!)
- 1/2 cup strawberries
* melt the dark chocolate bar in a bowl in the microwave on low heat. Then, take half the melted chocolate and put in in a coffee mug, add milk and brewed coffee. DELICIOUS!
Then take the rest of the chocolate and dipp the strawberries in it and sip on some hot ';healthy'; mocha and enjoy some fresh strawberries diped in chocolate with it!Healthy recipes?
squash, beans, peppers and asparagus are all very healthy for you. you should make yourself like them. i do that with food all the time. you're not five years old right? just force yourself to eat it and eventually you'll get accustomed to the taste. In the meantime, how about this recipe?
Spicy Broccoli Penne
* 1/2 lb penne pasta, or any other type of short pasta
* 2 Tbsp olive oil
* 4 cloves garlic, chopped
* 1/2 bunch rapini, or 1 head broccoli, chopped
* 2 tomatoes, chopped
* 2 chili peppers or 1 tsp chili paste
* 2 anchovy fillets
* parmesan
* a handful of parsley, chopped
Put the pasta on to cook. Heat a frypan over high heat, add the oil. Add the chili and anchovies and cook for 1 minute then add the garlic and broccoli and cook for 2 minutes. Add the tomatoes and cook for 3 minutes. Drain the pasta and toss with the broccoli mixture. Serve sprinkled with parmesan and parsley.
Hey why don't you try to make my vegetable soup!
1 liter of V8 tomato juice
1 head of cabbage
1 small bag of sweet baby carrots
1 bag of mixed veggies, (frozen) either mixed peas and corn or some other blend(your preference)
1yellow onion
1 clove of garlic
2 tlbsp of parsley
1 tblsp of salt/ a teasp of pepper
1/2 cup of fresh string beans(your preference)
You can also use meats(beef cubes, shrimp, or chicken breast cut into 1/2 in chunks!)
First if using meats, cut and boil meats in a pan to render any excess oils and fats. Drain and put aside. If raw shrimp, peel and rinse and place in frige until later. They should be added to soup at very end. Anyway, cut up cabbage into 1/2 inch chunks or just pull apart the haed and leave the big leaves whole. Thaw mixed veggies, cut yellow onion and peel garlic. Take a 50oz pot and combine pour V8 into pot and stat to boil on medium high. Once boiling combine all ingredients in pot, Except if using shrimp. Cover with top only to let some of the steam escape. Simmer on medium-low for 40-45 minutes. If using shrimp add to soup the last 15 minutes of cooking time. When finished let the soup sit for 10 with top completely on pot. I hope you like it!

(use whatever veggies you like)
Soups and stews are probably the healthiest of foods since all the juices from the veggies are retained.
